Wyclef looking to be President of Haiti?

Wyclef Jean will be announcing his candidacy for president of Haiti, according to www.allhiphop.com. A source announced that Wyclef will make the announcement August 5th, 2 days prior to the country's August 7th deadline for announcing candidacy. Haiti is the homeland of the rapper.

A few weeks prior, Wyclef had announced to CNN that he had filled out the proper paperwork to run, but was still undecided.

He has been at the forefront of recovery efforts since the devastating earthquake in Haiti last January.

Analysts predict that with his popularity and financial resources, that he would be a clear favorite to win the election. The election is slated to occur on November 28th.
