Last year, Bow Wow announced he was retiring from rap following the release of New Jack City, Pt. II. However, only a few months after he released the album, Bow Wow left his longtime label, Columbia Records, and signed with Cash Money.

For years, Bow Wow has recorded music with prominent members of the label. In 2003, Birdman produced his hit single from Unleashed, "Let's Get Down." From that point on, Bow Wow has been an honorary member of the crew.

When Bow Wow announced his retirement, not too many people believed him. Over the years, many rappers have retired and come back to the game. Bow Wow promised he would really give the game up.

While he did not give up rap completely, Bow Wow has taken some time off. Towards the end of 2009, he recorded some tracks with Young Money and he has released mixtape singles. Earlier today, Birdman spoke on adding Bow Wow to the label. He said it is great to add someone who was already established to his already stacked team. Birdman says he looks forward to releasing new music from Bow Wow. The midwest rapper plans to release his next disc sometime next year.
