Three years ago, Trick Daddy shocked the world when he left his longtime label, Slip-N-Slide Records. Trick Daddy helped gain fame for the label and landed them the distribution deal with Atlantic Records. For years, Trick Daddy made anthems for the label.

But, after ten years with the label and the focus clearly being on new acts, Rick Ross and Plies, Trick Daddy decided it was time for him to leave. He felt if he left then he could leave on good terms with the label. Instead of signing with another label, Trick created his own Dunk Ryders label.

Trick Daddy is currently working on his second album with his new label, http://www.thug2.com/. The album is a sequel to his 1998 album, http://www.thug.com/. It was that album that transformed him from a local Miami rapper into a national sensation. Early in the 2000s, Trick Daddy was the South's most-popular rapper.

One of his most-notable hits came in 2002, "Trick Loves the Kids." The song came after criticisms of his lyrics not being suitable for children. The title of the song was met with much scrutiny and many believed he named the song to stir controversy. However, Trick Daddy revealed he comes from a big family and there are always children around. The reason Trick Daddy created a song called "Trick Loves the Kids" is because Trick does love the kids.

On this new album, Trick Daddy wants to show there is more to him than rapping about money, drugs, and sex. His personal life has led to a change of pace for the former "Take it to the House" rapper. He is the father of growing children and is a strict father. Trick Daddy says he is not a friend to his children because he has to make the rules. So, if he comes out with a classic Trick Daddy album, he is going against some of what he is trying to teach his children.

Leading by example, Trick Daddy is changing things up because he loves the kids and he loves his kids more than anything.
