The last time Juelz Santana released an album was in 2005, but he has remained one of the most popular rappers in the game. For six years, he has been on the mixtape scene, but in a major way. Ever since 2006, he has been promising the release of his third album, Born to Lose, Built to Win.

However, the album was held up by Def Jam for various reasons and later delayed when Diplomat Records broke up. During this time, Santana launched his Skull Gang imprint. With the crew reuniting in 2009, Juelz Santana has been working with them on their projects.

Now, with Diplomat Records signing an exclusive distribution deal with Interscope Records, Juelz Satana is able to focus on his own music. Santana promised the fans he would release three new mixtapes this year, along with his long-awaited third studio album. Recording for his next album will begin once his studio is reopened.

Santana's next mixtape will be named Born to Lose, Built to Win, his album will likely be renamed.
