Promising Tha Carter IV would come to life in 2011, following two years worth of delays, Lil Wayne had to push the album back again. With his "6 Foot 7 Foot" single still buzzing after three months on the radio, Wayne wanted to release his album in June. However, his manager, Cortez Bryant, decided to hold off on the album.

For making fans wait, Lil Wayne has titled the mixtape Sorry 4 The Wait. Currently, the only guest appearance on the album is Lil B, the "gay" rapper from the West Coast. With Tha Carter IV not coming until August, this mixtape will have to hold fans over for a stretch of time.

Lil Wayne said the mixtape will have a similar format to his critically-acclaimed 2010 mixtape, No Ceilings. Again, Wayne will be freestyling over beats by other artists. Wayne said he is going to make some rappers mad, who did not call on him to record on the original.

Currently, Tha Carter IV is slated for an August 29 release date.
